70 YEARS AND GOING STRONG!
Welcome to our site:
The Kitner family has been proudly serving Perry County for 70 years. It all started in 1943 when Daniel Kitner Sr purchased a dozer to trail logs for his sawmill. When farmers saw what it could do, they called to get fence rows cleared, ponds made, and foundations dug.
Business took off so much that the dozer never made it back to the sawmill and an additional dozer was purchased in 1947. Both dozers were kept busy working for farmers and townships. Township roads were all 'horse and buggy' roads and needed to be widened for modern traffic. In the wintertime, they could be seen pushing the snow drifts off township roads.
Four of Daniel's sons, Raymond, Harry, Dan Jr, and Boyd, continued doing the excavating work. Business grew to where the brothers formed a partnership in 1959. It was known as Kitner Brothers Excavating.
In 1960 they started paving business parking lots and residential driveways. Raymond's son Gerald, Harry's sons Glenn and Barry, and Dan's son Gary started working alongside their fathers and uncles to learn the business. The partnership became incorporated in 1988 and is known today as Kitner Bros., Inc. (KBI)
They all have been raised to appreciate their customers and do quality work at the most reasonable prices. They continue with hands-on daily operations. That is why whoever looks at your job, does the work. Your work is important to you and that makes it important to them.
Three of the Kitners proudly served our country during wars: Harry (WWII), Boyd (Korean), and Glenn (Vietnam). They all safely returned home and helped to continue the family business.
There are many years combined experience and they all live in Perry County to serve Perry County. They are proud to have served Perry County for 69 years and look forward to serving for many more to come.
